Why I love to teach

As a cardiologist and one of the most experienced lipidologists in Australia, I’ve been fortunate to combine my love of clinical practice with research and teaching. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of sharing insights gained from conducting more than 65 clinical trials and developing innovative approaches like an extracorporeal lipid removal technique called lipid apheresis, first conducted by my team in Brisbane. I’m passionate about breaking down complex topics like lipid metabolism and cardiovascular health into concepts that are accessible and engaging. Whether collaborating on global conferences, publishing more than 150 peer-reviewed papers, or guiding future healthcare professionals, teaching helps me stay connected to the evolving world of cardiology.
